Special thanks to Coach Scott Cornett and Alice Lloyd College for allowing us to host the first-round game of the 14th Region All “A” Classic with Hazard. It was a great experience for our baseball team to play on a college field today.

Congratulations to our 2025 Rogers Scholars: Kenzie Grubb and Noah Shouse! Information about this prestigious and selective opportunity can be found at https://centeryouthprograms.com/rogers-scholars/. Great job, and we know you both will represent OCHS well!

Congratulations to our middle and high school winners of last Friday's Pi Day (3/14) Contest!

Gear Up took nine OCHS students to EKU Manchester to "STEM Goes RED" today. These students learned about women in STEM careers.

Members had a great day at the KY FFA Middle School Leadership Conference yesterday! Students learned about finding their voice, communicating with their peers, and engaging their communities all for the benefit of the agriculture industry and their local FFA chapters!

Students in grade 11 will take the ACT tomorrow, Tuesday, March 11. Students need to be at school before 8:00A.M. The Youth Service Center is providing breakfast for juniors beginning at 7:45A.M. in front of the Kids on Stage room. This is a required test so all juniors must be present tomorrow for testing (unless you have made other arrangements with other staff). Make sure Chromebooks are charged and brought with you to school.

Congratulations to the OCMHS 8th grade class for taking back the weekly championship belt for having over 95% attendance this week!

FFA members showed their appreciation for teachers and staff with sausage biscuits and donuts this morning!

Spring sports physicals will be offered again tomorrow after school at the high school nurses office.

Mrs. Price's science students have been studying Gravitational Potential Energy. Students built tracks and used voyager sensor probes connected to software to gather data that is graphed and collected by the sensor along the track. Also, her Astronomy students have been using 3D doodles to create space-themed ornaments for the class' Universe Tree.

Thank you to Judge Executive Zeke Little for officially declaring it FFA Week in Owsley County! These students have a great week planned!

The first official softball practice will be tomorrow March 3rd at the High School Softball Field for grade levels 6-12. Practice will be from 3:00-5:30 and all girls participating need a physical, a glove, and cleats/old tennis shoes.

Our Owsley County FFA members had the opportunity to serve their fellow Eastern Kentuckians by volunteering their time to organize and pack supplies at the ARH Disaster Relief Center in Hazard.
The FFA emphasizes serving others and making a positive change in the world. These kids did that today! One student said, “Man, serving people really does feel good!”

2025 56th District All District Team members Jordan McCoy and Chase Pryse. Congratulations!
